In 2001 I finished the conversion from analog to digital. All the locomotives have digital control.
Converting to digital is quit an investment. Beside the fact that you need a controller,
you also need new transformers, boosters and upgrades for the locomotives without a
delta or digital decoder. Of course all the new locomotives I buy are digital (mfx) and if available with
nice gadgets like lights and steam always on, sound, whistle and so on.
I will take sometime, but at the end there will be only high performance digital locomotives on the tracks. Most of the engines have sound now.
Because of the fact that the turn-outs and signals are
controlled by contact and circuit tracks, reed contacts and relays, converting of those items can wait.
I placed some of the braking modules. A lot of work, because you have to make some extra sections in the tracks
and, after that, restore the scenery. But the effect is good looking.
Slowing down smoothly. Burning lights on the locomotive and in the trains, sound and steam still working.
The station of Baden Baden. I placed a mirror wall behind the platforms to get a better view and more depth.
