Piet Brijs - Model railroad tour part one
Bonn
|
|
18-11-2010 new tunnel entrance for the sideline.
My lay-out has two large stations: Bonn (Kibri) and Baden Baden (Vollmer).
The cities do not reflect the actual cities Bonn and Baden-Baden. Just composed of buildings I want to have on my lay-out.
The brancheline goes to Neuffen.
For the first time I made some nightshots of the platforms.
I used an exposure time of 10 seconds for picture 11 and 30 seconds for picture 12.
Aperture value f/14. Iso 200. And of course I used a tripod and a remote control for the camera.
For picture 11 I switched off the light after about 5 and for picture 12 after about 10 seconds.
To prevent the lights from being dominating.
Of course you have to experience with the settings and the camera so I made a number of shots.
For picture 12 I left the door a very little bit open to let some light slip in.

It's easier to make those kind of pictures with a digital camera.

Leaving Bonn.
The signals are Viessmann signals.
I replaced most of my Märklin signals by Viessmann signals.
Better looks and until now no problems.
Behind the signal tower you see the brancheline to Neuffen

Finally completed (more or less) the street with the old houses.
In one of the houses I build a bedroom and added outside lights. In another house I opened the front door and build an entrance hall, including interior lights
Did some maintenance on the streets, added two streetlights, some new cars (a 1937 mercedes coupe and a 1960 porsche), a flower stand and a few preiserlein.
Had to remove the stationbuilding to do the job. Will be replaced after finishing the street of course.
In the first two pictures I removed the trees to have a better sight on the houses.
The third picture shows the whole street.
In the fourth picture I played a bit with black and white and the last picture shows the interior of the most left house.

I decided to replace my normal radius turn-outs by large radius turn-outs.
In a existing lay-out that's not an easy job.
The turn-outs are replaced and the tracks are connected again.
Now working on the scenery.
An overview of the station.
After completion of the scenery, this picture will be replaced.
