Piet Brijs - Summer vacation 2006
Another summer vacation in Fiss.
As always we enjoyed our stay in "Haus Sunnbichl".
Fiss (and not only Fiss) had a very cold spring. Last snow came down early June. Lucky for us the weather changed and we had a
beautiful 2 weeks in Fiss. High temperatures, lots of sun and the occassionally thunderstorm in the evening.

This winter and spring Fiss had a lot of snow.
The remains of the snow rapidly melts away.

Altfinstermünz.
Until 1854 all traffic (people and goods) to Italy via the Reschenpass had to travel via this customs and toll bridge. Following the old Roman trail (via Claudia Augusta). This bridge was mentioned for the first time in 1263. The current tower and fortifications (Sigmundseck) were build in the 15th century.

Innsbruck-Alpenzoo.
The Alpenzoo shows the actual and historical animals from the Alps.
Highest Zoo in Europe (717 meter above sea level)

Not all the grass was harvested. The pastures are covered with thousands of flowers. Beautiful views.
