GNURobbo for Maemo

GNURobbo for Maemo is the maemo (OS2008) version of an Atari XE/XL game ported to Linux. It is sort of a puzzle.

GNURobbo is now available from the extras repository. Visit the Maemo page to install it or use this link Click to Install.

It is port and packaging of GNURobbo for OS2008.

Version 0.63

This new version is a major upstream upgrade. Since it now contains support for touch screens I removed my touch sensitive areas.

Changes include

WIIMote

Using wiicontrol you can play GNURobbo using a wii remote!

I added a GNURobbo mapping which allows you to control Robbo using the wiimote in landscape mode. If you configure GNURobbo to shoot using one of the cursor control keys in combination with Modifier2 then shooting is done by pressing both the '2' and an arrow button on the wiimote.

You can download the two python files from here wiicontrol and Wiimote.py.

Version 0.57

I added initializing osso context to keep it from being killed by maemo, added sensitive area's to the screen to ease controlling the game and added selecting the level by browsing the list.

Controls:

Note: selecting a level is normally done by typing the name. Unfortunately I do not know how to get the virtual keyboard to appear. Therefor I added support for browsing the list. When the 'Change Level' menu item is active you can use the Left/Right actions to browse. Ofcourse you can also select one by editing the .gnurobborc file.

Since I own an N800 I do not know if the keyboard of the N810 works but I guess it does.
